#ADLcollective vs. Don't Do Pretty
Have you ever aspired to be something great?
I have... and the thought lasted about five seconds. It was all too hard, so I threw my arms up in the air and sulked, just like my youngest child not getting her own way.
Well, let me tell you now that these ladies are fierce, now I am talking Kim K. versus Taylor Swift fierce. But, they are not fierce with anger, they are Rebel & Eloise the designers of Adelaide's own Don't Do Pretty... They have a fiercely positive attitude towards life and all things great.
Don’t Do Pretty is a label synonymous with empowering Adelaide women, fitting them with the clothes necessary to take on any lemon that life throws in the way and turn it into delicious lemonade.
The girl's encourage others with their slogan:
Don’t Do Pretty
Do Powerful.
Do Extraordinary.
Do a tsunami of stardust that leaves a sprinkle of you in every moment of life.
And this is what they have to say:
'We are Eloise and Rebel and We Don’t Do Pretty.'
'We Do, Smart. Strong. Powerful. Confident, Weird. Unique.'
Rebel and Eloise go on to say,
We are the best of friends from little old Adelaide who were destined to meet and take on the world together! We have always lived by the DDP code and want to share our philosophies through our brand to empower others to Don’t Do Pretty!
DDP is more than just a fashion label. It is a movement. We want to build a remarkable collaborative community of strong, powerful women who own their confidence and who embrace being different. Don’t Do Pretty creates unique and powerful clothes for unique and powerful women. Clothes are your second skin. They represent your identity. We make timeless pieces that empower confidence and embody individuality perfect for creating your very own personal brand!
For our first collection, we have kept it simple with a versatile range of immaculate skirts made from luscious genuine leathers and the richest silks. Each skirt has their very own personality with names to match such as ‘Kill Them With Confidence’, ‘Catch Me If You Can’, ‘Eat My Stardust’, and ‘Dressed To Empress’. Our inaugural collection holds a contemporary edge with statement pieces that get people talking. We have been thoughtful in our designs so to suite all shapes and sizes of women. Wearing our skirts most definitely evokes confidence and brings out the hero in you.
At DDP we don’t do ‘Fast Fashion’, we Eat Problems For Breakfast! We follow in the lines of Vivienne Westwood’s quote ‘Buy Less, Choose well, Make it last’. Throughout our journey so far, our eyes have been opened to all the harmful impacts the fashion industry has on the world. Naturally, this has evolved strongly into our brands ethics and values.
Our clothes are 100% Australian made with the highest quality fabrics and skins which have been ethically sourced so to meet Australian Standard Guidelines. We are very proud of this although it does come at a cost. We hope our clients learn to understand and support these values so to help move the fashion industry in a positive direction. We by no means take the moral ground, we only wish to influence and educate people to make more powerful choices that in turn will help reduce impacts to our planet and the people who make our clothes.
What is the DDP code and who is a DDP woman?
Women who wear DDP aim to catch excellence. She will be confident and own her personal style and brand. Her dress sense is refined and embodies her uniqueness and integrity. She is her own hero and represents the females of this world. She is a woman who makes powerful choices evoking strong values and ethics. She is willing to stand up for what she believes in to make a difference.
She has done what we want all women in the world to do – to be the most powerful you.
